How can we help?

Quick answers to common questions about Sippo, and a direct line to us when you need one.

Common questions

Most things can be changed in Sippo Settings. To open it, click Sippo’s icon in the menu bar, then the gear button.

My buddy isn’t showing up

Sippo holds reminders when it thinks you’d rather not be interrupted. Check these:

  • Click Sippo’s icon in the menu bar. If the button there says Resume, reminders are paused. Click it to turn them back on.
  • In Settings, under Reminders, check Check-in hours. Your buddy only visits during those hours.
  • Under Behaviour, the pause switches hold reminders in fullscreen, while screen sharing, during presentations and during Focus. Turn off any you don’t need.

Sippo doesn’t open when I log in

Turn on Launch at login in Settings, under Behaviour. If Settings says it’s waiting for your OK, click Open Login Items… and allow Sippo in System Settings › General › Login Items.

Pause during Focus isn’t working

Sippo needs your permission to see whether a Focus is on. Allow it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Focus, then make sure Pause during Focus is on in Settings, under Behaviour.

I bought Sippo, but it’s asking me to unlock it

Your purchase belongs to the Apple Account you bought it with. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with that account.

Sippo checks with the App Store each time it opens, so a reinstall usually unlocks by itself. If it doesn’t, click the unlock button at the top of Settings and choose Restore Purchase.

Can I use Sippo on more than one Mac?

Yes. Your one-time purchase covers every Mac signed in to the same Apple Account. Download Sippo from the Mac App Store on the other Mac. If it doesn’t unlock by itself, use Restore Purchase as described above.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles every Sippo purchase, so refunds go through Apple too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Sippo.

How do I change my buddy, goal or reminder times?

All of it is in Settings, and you can change it whenever you like:

  • Buddy: pick a different buddy and turn sounds on or off.
  • Hydration: your daily water goal and usual amount per drink.
  • Reminders: how often your buddy checks in, and the hours it visits.

What do I need to run Sippo?

A Mac running macOS 26 Tahoe or later.

How do I remove Sippo?

Click Sippo’s icon in the menu bar, choose Quit Sippo, then drag Sippo from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove the data it saved as well, see Your choices and your data in our Privacy Policy.
